NFZ closes free preventive mammography scans

Sandomierz News from January 12, 2009. The Hospital in Sandomierz as well as other County Hospitals of Swiętokrzyskie Voivodship won't perform free of charge preventive mammography anymore. The decision have been made by the National Heath Fund (NFZ) because the hospitals didn't met the requirements. The diagnostic examinations on the other hand are a different story and will be still performed in County hospitals. This method is acceptable in this case because it will be verified later in the progress of next examinations. Additionally, mammography buses from Cracow, Gdańsk and Łódź will be sent to the Counties, as well as new cytology and mammography bus of Świętokrzyskie Oncology Centre.
